WE LOVE TENNIS <3
Rafael Nadal needs no introduction. He is one of the best tennis players of all time and the record holder of most Grand Slam titles with 20.
The Spaniard Megastar is the biggest figure for the Nike Tennis line with a sponsorship lasting almost 2 decades.
Rafa plays with Nike clothes and accessories. For the footwear, he has been using the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 3 since the 2017/2018 season.
It is always difficult to know exactly what Nadal wears on his feet. The shoes he wears are not a model available for the public, but custom pairs made from a combination of different Nike models to better suit his requirements.
As of the beginning of 2022, Rafael Nadal wears a custom-made tennis shoe based on the upper of the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 3 and the mold of the Nike Courtballistec 4.3.
Why Doesn’t Nadal Wear the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 4 Shoes He Promotes?
It is a classic move by the sponsors to try to disguise the real shoes of their player using a new fresh model for marketing purposes. But in the case of Nadal, it is obvious that Rafa is not wearing/liking the Vapor Cage 4.
As documented in his biography, Rafa has been dealing with chronic career-threatening foot problems/injuries for many years, requiring substantial modifications to his footwear.
Consequently, any seasonal stylistic changes are of necessity, bound to be almost entirely superficial. This includes changing slightly the design but never messing with the mold and the foot support technology.
Rafael Nadal has for years found himself comfortable and easy-going in the Courtballistec 4.3. If you add the amazingly flexible and breathable upper of the Air Zoom Cage 3, which I personally like and use, you get Nadal’s shoes.
Can You Get 2022 Nadal’s Shoes?
Unfortunately, the shoes are custom-designed to suit Rafael Nadal’s needs. The real shoes are not available in the stores yet or may never be.
However, you can still find the Air Zoom Cage 3 shoes, which I think are the closest thing to Nadal’s tennis shoes.
