Jack Draper is becoming a consistent performer at major events. He made quick work of Taylor Fritz in the round of 16 at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, winning 7-5, 6-4. This victory positions him as a potential title contender. He will face Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals for a rare all-lefty showdown.

Asked about the impact of his performances on British tennis culture, Draper did not hold back.

“Of course, we have Wimbledon. It’s one of the biggest sporting events in the world. I’d say that for three weeks a year, we are very engaged in tennis. I think we’ve been very lucky to have Andy Murray and other players who showed me the way and inspired me to become a top-level player myself. That said, I would say our tennis culture is not very developed in the UK. It’s clear that other tennis nations, like Italy, Spain, and France, are better off.”
