Ahead of his semifinal clash against Jack Draper at the Indian Wells Masters 1000, Carlos Alcaraz spoke in a press conference about his opponent’s desire to train with him during the offseason.

Although the British player ultimately had to cancel due to injury, the intention was there.

“Honestly, very few players had reached out to Juan Carlos (Ferrero) during the preseason just to come to the academy or wherever we were training, and Jack was one of them. I’m really happy that more and more players are talking to Juan Carlos about training with me in Spain. I think it’s a great way to have a strong preseason, but in the end, Jack couldn’t make it because of his injury. I was really looking forward to training with him for a week or so. But yeah, he’s a really nice guy off the court, which makes it even easier to share good moments or spend a week training together. He’s a very professional player. Off the court, he always does things the right way, so he’s definitely one of those guys you enjoy working with.”
